Canasta- Mondays 1-3 pm

There’s a new(old) game at the library–Canasta! Canasta is a card game of the rummy family of games believed to be a variant of 500 Rum. Although many variations exist for two, three, five or six players, it is most commonly played by four in two partnerships with two standard decks of cards.

But you don’ t have to know that…all you need to know is that you can come to the library on Mondays from 1-3 to learn this game!

Dungeons and Dragons–Saturdays 1-2:30 pm

Attention teenagers! The Library is starting a Dungeons and Dragons club! This is a new club for the library, starting this May, so we have only gotten as far as setting up our characters–it’s not too late to join!

Not Getting Your Email Notice?

Several patrons have recently mentioned that they never got their email notices when a book has come in for them. Here are some quick ways to remedy that:

  1. Check to see if the notice is coming into your inbox by searching “circulation notices.”
  2. If results show that the email was received but you never saw it in your inbox, continue to step 3. If your search yielded 0 results, speak to the librarian as your email address may need to be updated in our system.
  3. Open one of the “circulation notices” emails and choose from the drop down list: Add to Contacts. In Gmail, this drop down arrow is located inside the message next to the reply arrow near the top.
  4. We can always test out your email notice if you come in to the library.

Hope this helps!

And remember you have one week to pick up your library items from the hold shelf once they are received.

eBooks for Kids!

The library has expanded services with a new digital collection website experience just for kids. The main MHLS Digital Download Collection now has a separate site to provide a safe and easy browsing experience for kids.

Libraries recognize the need to provide a safe environment for kids to browse library materials. Just as the children’s section of the physical library has its own place, the same experience is now available in the digital collection for kids eBooks and audiobooks. Browsing can be done by subject, reading level or interest level. Check out the Kid’s eReading Room.
